BEAD & RIBBON BOOKMARK (BOOK THONG)

Materials:

- 1 medium-sized charm
- 2 jumprings
- 1 eyepin 2-3 inches in length
- Assortment of beads (1-1/2 to 2 inches worth)
- 2 feet of ribbon ½ inch in width
- 2 beads with hole size large enough to fit snuggly over ribbon when doubled.

Step 1 - Attach charm to eyepin loop. REMEMBER: always open the eyepin to the side vs. pulling it apart so you don’t weaken the metal.

Step 2 – Add beads to the eyepin to create desired design leaving about ½ inch of wire.

Step 3 - After last bead, bend wire to create a right angle.

Step 4 –Trim wire leaving 3/8 inch.

Step 5 – Using round-nose pliers bend the wire to create a loop.

Step 6 – Attach the loop to the jumpring.

Step 7 – Put the ribbon through the jumpring making the two lengths even.

Step 8 – Slide on the two beads and knot end of ribbon. Trim the frayed ribbon ends.

Step 9 – Slide one of the beads on the ribbon up to the jumpring and leave the other down at the knot.

Easy as pie!!

To use, open ribbon and slide over bookbinding, close book and adjust bead to fit spine.
