Q. I have accumulated a lot of bead patterns over the years and would like to share them on my website. Can I just scan them to share with my beading friends?
A. Before you add the patterns or projects to your website you must ask permission from the original author. Many projects were available for personal use or as class instructions, but were not intended to be shared without permission. The creator of the project may be making a living with their art and it is not ethical to share their intellectual property without consent. You can share your work, giving credit to the artist as the inspiration and include a link to the artist who created the original pattern. Networking with the artist is always appreciated!
